Christian Igwe has spent most of his life in ministry. His parents have been avid church attenders his whole life, leading to a constant involvement serving in churches. From an early age he knew his mission in life, to preach the gospel.
He spent some time fighting against this calling during his late teens, which landed him in some serious trouble. After a short period of time in jail, he found himself in a hard face to face with the Lord. He knew in that moment there was not any more time to waste. He had to serve the Lord.
At the age of 18 he entered into an internship in his home church in Granada Hills, CA. There he ministered to teens serving as a leader in the youth ministry for three years. After this point he served alongside The Springs Church in Las Vegas, NV for three years. There he helped plant and grow the church as a Worship and Production Director, as well as The Director for Student ministries.
This season was followed by two and a half years spent at Crosswinds Church as the Student Pastor. During this time he attended Berean School of The Bible and completed his Ministerial Certification. It was during this season God began to inspire and activate the vision for Redeem Christian Church.
In 2018, while in Austin, TX for his younger brother’s wedding he knew that the ground ministry would be there. He began growing in excitement as God slowly revealed the vision for Redeem over the next year. He is ecstatic about the amazing community that God has give him the heart to minister in.
Christian is married to Celina Igwe. They met during their time in Granada Hills, California while serving in the youth ministry together. Their attraction came from the mutual love they shared for the Lord. They were wed in August 2011 and have grown their family with their three beautiful children.
Angelie, age 9 loves art, science, and of course shares her father’s passion for video games. She is also an avid reader. Promise, age 3, loves to play dress up and is the princess of the family. Little Christian Jr. has a fascination with cars, especially the ones that make fun noises.
The family love attending live theatre, watching comedies, eating international foods, and simply being present with each other. They are a family who intentionally strives to live on purpose, for their purposes.
